About 2022 All Industries Benefits Survey Report – Vietnam

From the day an employee is recruited to the time they leave your organization, the remuneration and benefits strategy is one of the most complex, and sometimes, controversial issues of the employment relationship. Employers have to make decisions such as:
- Which benefits will be offered?
- How are employee health plans structured?
- What sort of vehicle benefits is provided to employees?
- What retirement benefits are offered?
Organizations need comprehensive information to help determine a remuneration and benefits strategy. One of the first questions always at the top of the list when reviewing benefits policies is: What is everyone else doing?
Mercer collects information on benefits from a wide range of organizations operating across 19 Asia Pacific countries. In Vietnam, 350 organizations provided data to 2022 All Industries benefits survey by completing our benefits questionnaire.
The report reveals benefits that “everyone else” did for their employee as follow:
Medical Check-up
94% of the companies provide periodic medical check-ups to employees, and most companies offer it as a core benefit. This entitlement usually commences immediately upon employment and it is typically not extended to dependents. Companies generally self-fund the benefit at an annual amount of VND 1,960,277 per employee.
Telemedicine
With the trend in healthcare during and after the pandemic, companies have begun to adopt measures to meet practical needs, around 10% of them have started to provide telemedicine benefits. Companies offer it as part of the outpatient clinical benefits for employees. In such case, most companies extend insurance to spouses and children.
Vaccination
Vaccination benefits, like Telemedicine, are being implemented by a lot of employers; 16% of companies have adopted this policy. Companies frequently provide it as a standalone benefit. When provided, the benefit is typically extended to dependents – spouse and children,
