When Experts Become Tarot Readers: HR Trends In 2022 & What Is Next?

The experts held an exciting “Tarot” reading session about the situation of what happened, is happening, and gave out causes as well as future predictions about labor trends in 2022, using a new, fresh, yet engaging and insightful format.

What skills and occupations will “take the throne” in 2022?

The current labor market is compared to a vibrant picture, which can leave many young people confused and in need of a comprehensive view of the recruitment market, careers, or what skills would become increasingly “hot” in the near future?

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy CEO of Talentnet Corporation, remarked on the trend and impact of digital transformation:

The young generation is experiencing an unprecedented great privilege, receiving numerous opportunities and benefits.

Ms. Huong also stated that the industry groups that will be most developed during the 4.0 transformation era will be those related to digitization, systems, and data (information technology, automation, engineering,..)

Besides, there are many traditional jobs that are still in high demand in terms of recruitment, such as sales, marketing, and business development. The emergence of many other professions in the digital age has resulted in a shift in the candidate selection process. Ms. Tran Thi The Thanh, a talent acquisition expert, asserts that hiring should be “potential over experience,” and that employers need to be more open-minded. Meaning that candidates with the ability, effort, and willingness to constantly learn will be prioritized. Experts also encourage youngsters to take risks, take on new challenges, and pursue a career following their own hearts.

Innovations in compensation policy – Based on what factors?

With the wave of Gen Z entering the workforce, managing a multi-generational staff has become increasingly difficult. As a result, the HR policy system must be modified and diversified to meet various needs. Therefore, it is best for business leaders or HR professionals to consider each employee’s desires and ensure that they receive the benefits which are suited, regardless of their generation. Most importantly, it will aid in the retention of employees.

Work-life balance should be encouraged. Ms. Vu Thi Huyen Trang, Business Development & Services Excellence Leader of Talentnet Corporation, made comments that further clarified the diversity and creativity in terms of compensation policies such as: proposing childcare allowance, adding days off, or providing accounts for many entertainment platforms (Spotify, Netflix, etc.) to allow employees time to rest, relax, and then return to work.

When designing a compensation plan, there are 3 main focuses: Employees’ essential elements, personal factors, and ideals. Only then can businesses create a unique compensation policy.

Human resource management and hybrid working: How effective is it?

During this part, the guests in the show had a very lively discussion and decided to support the common view that, while corporate culture may not need to change to adapt to the hybrid environment, the way that culture operates will inevitably have to change. In which, trust and engagement among employees are the top factors that need to be built.

“Empathic leadership” is a buzzword these days. In order to bring employees together, it will be necessary to pay attention to one‘s health, circumstances, and self-expression. The hybrid working model has imposed certain constraints on management, making it difficult for them to capture their employees’ emotions on a daily basis. As a result, those in charge of people management will find it increasingly necessary to hone their skills; they will need to learn a variety of new methods, skills, and even new emotional issues.

The labor market in 2022 is a multifaceted and multicolored Rubik’s cube, and both employees and employers must be “flexible” in this “diversity.” To help HR people come up with a policy of “touching” employees more in the new reality, compensation programs should focus on “basic”, “personalized,” and “ideal” elements. Moreover, “empathy” is a factor that helps us bring a better life to our employees as well as a better experience to our customers when working with people.
